We just finished up the preterite irregular forms in Unit 9, so now you can practice the preterite tense as a whole.
We are still building toward this unit's final exercise which puts the "Big Three" tenses to work in all their forms.
No Restrictions on Context
Remember that all tenses are now allowed in the sentence context.
So you might see compound tenses or subjunctive mood verbs along the way.
But each question itself will be asking you to provide a preterite tense answer.
